The 2019 edition of the 3D Pioneers Challenge has officially launched, inviting designers and specialists from around the globe to submit their most innovative and boundary pushing 3D printing-related projects. For the fourth year running, the 3D Pioneers Challenge is seeking to find the best AM ideas and projects in the categories of Design, MedTech, FashionTech, Material, Architecture, Digital and Mobility. This year, a new category, Sustainability, has also been added to the roster.

Online registration for the 3D Pioneers Challenge 2019 is now open, and participants have until the 15th of March, 2019 to submit their entries. This edition of the 3D printing challenge has a total of €35,000 in prize money to offer the winners, making it one of the most highly endowed design competitions in the 3D printing industry. (The challenge is funded by the Ministry of Economics, Science and Digital Society Thuringia. A number of other prizes, supplied by 3DPC partners, will also be given away.)

“We are glad about the great support that our design competition receives from the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, Science and Digital Society as well as from our numerous cooperation partners,” commented Michael Kynast, CEO of MEsse Erfurt GmbH, which organizes the challenge. “This shows the importance of our challenge in the world of additive manufacturing.
