3D-Fuel separates from Nexa3D and becomes independent (again)
The filament company was integrated into Nexa3D through the Essentium acquisition

In a somewhat twisted turn of events, filament company 3D-Fuel has become independent again after separating from Nexa3D. The company was licensed and its products manufactured by Essentium and then became part of Nexa3D when the company led by Avi Reichental acquired the material extrusion hardware manufacturer.
According to a statement made by the Fargo-based company, this renewed independence will allow it to return to the quality, reliability, and customer support that built its reputation in the desktop 3D printing market. It will also allow it to be more agile in addressing customer needs in that rapidly evolving market, demonstrating its commitment to putting customers at the center of everything it does.
After reclaiming its independence, 3D-Fuel is renewing its focus on USA-manufactured and supported filament extrusion materials for the quickly growing desktop market. Its most popular products, Standard PLA+, Tough Pro PLA+, and Pro PCTG, are available in up to 40 colors (and counting).
CEO and Founder, John Schneider, stated, “We want to ensure that we’re providing our long-term customers with what they need, with a renewed focus on quality, reliability, and customer service. At the same time, we’re excited to offer people just getting into 3D printing high-quality, dependable materials made and supported in the USA that are fully compatible with this new generation of fast, reliable 3D printers like those available from Bambu Lab, Creality3D, Prusa, Elegoo, and others.”
3D Fuel is conducting a 20-question survey to learn how best to serve these new customers and to learn about its existing customers’ evolving needs. In exchange, the company is offering $10 for completing the survey here.
Additionally, CEO Schneider would like to meet one-on-one with concerned customers and learn how to do better. “There is room for improvement. We don’t exist without our customers, and we want to make sure that the actions that we’re taking are the ones that fit our customers’ needs,” he said. Schneider has made his calendar available for scheduling 15 minutes to meet directly with him here.
“Our goal is to provide the right materials and customer support at the right time,” he concluded. “Whether you’re a hobbyist getting into 3D printing for the first time or a business with a print farm that relies on a quality result with every spool run through your 3D printers. 3D-Fuel is here to fuel your creativity.”
