# Modeling without CAD? Doodle Mode does It for you

Until recently, designing 3D models was associated with complex software and a lengthy learning curve. [New York-based company CookieCad](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/cookiecad/) aims to change that with Doodle Mode, which turns hand-drawn sketches into 3D-printable models. The browser-based CADit platform aligns with this philosophy. It opens up the world of 3D design to a wide range of creators, from hobbyists to small businesses. It allows you to design things like cookie cutters, embossers, stamps, and cake toppers.

The company operates at the intersection of 3D printing and confectionery, combining filament distribution with the creation of confectionery ingredients. This is a narrow but dynamically growing niche, fueled by the growing popularity of personalization in the food industry.

To celebrate the launch, the company organized a competition encouraging users to test Doodle Mode in practice. The prize pool exceeded $400 and went to the authors of the most creative designs created using the new feature.
