3D Alliances and Fieldbit team up to offer AR platform for field service

Meeting recently accelerated AM industry demands

One of the trends that the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated is that of remote work and – in 3D printing – that translates to remote installations and remote support. To help 3D printing companies better address this market demand, consulting firm 3D Alliances is now working with Fieldbit, a developer and provider of a multi-source Augmented Reality (AR) knowledge platform. Through this partnership, 3D Alliances and Fieldbit will offer 3D printing companies and Value Add Resellers, a smart remote field service solution for industrial 3D printers.

FieldbitFounded and run by AM industry veteran Gil Lavi, 3D Alliances helps 3D printing companies to accelerate their global business and channel expansion. “We are super excited to partner with Fieldbit” said Gil Lavi, Founder & CEO of 3D Alliances. “[…] over Fieldbitthe past few weeks many 3D printing companies faced the need to remotely support their customers as traveling is very limited. This can’t be done efficiently over the phone, and the need for smart solutions is peaking. Therefore, we think Augmented Reality will play a major role in offering professional solutions for remote support, and we trust Fieldbit can help 3D printing companies solve these critical issues”.

Fieldbit offers field service technicians rich, real-time information and guidance through interactive collaboration with experts and digital resources. Its remote solution can be used to solve critical technical problems, install 3D printers or provide technical and application training.

Alex Rapoport, VP Product and Marketing added: “3D Printing systems require multi-disciplinary skills to provide technical services and fix problems. Fieldbit solutions virtually brings your most experienced engineers and SMEs to any locations around the globe to ensure quick resolution of technical issues and high uptime of the equipment.”
